Three days have past since we arrived in Nyalam. I have used this time to get used to the altitude and hooked up with the other participating expeditions who will attend the research project. Every day I've done several hours trekking in the surrounding mountains, and tried to get used to the local food. This has gone great, but today I have had a mild headache and had to "rope på æljen" (started vomiting), as we say in Norwegian, on a trekk to around 4700 MSL. Easter evening was celebrated with the "Hamar til topps" team, with yak meat instead of lamb, and Easter egg and movies. Nothing is better than relaxing with candy and movies while listening to rats running around in the "hotel".....
Besides this, there has been a great interest to my research project among the other expeditions. Expeditions from France, South-Africa, Poland and Kazakhstan, has all made a huge interest in my work, and I am welcoming them with open arms to join the project. Tomorrow we are leaving for Thingri 4200 MSL, hopefully accompanied by the "Unarmed" expedition, since they have been struggling with some sickness.
Hope everyone has had a great Easter holyday...
